I have to say, Acer Aspire 8930 is a huge laptop! The word “Big” doesn't have enough ability to describe it, so I have to use “Huge” instead. Just imagine, a 18.4-inch laptop! What a kind of thing! Isn't that a desktop? You want to ask. But the truth is, it is a notebook, a 18.4-inch notebook. Now people are talking much about it, because it is worth our attention. So let's discuss it here.
Acer Aspire 8930 is a Gaming Laptop with a a 2.5GHz Intel T9400 Core 2 Duo processor, an nVidia 9700M GT 512MB graphics card, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and the 64-bit version of Windows Vista. With a 18.4-inch display and quality processor, it is best for playing computer games. All kinds of games are Okay. And because it has such a big display, it could be a desktop replacement. With Acer Aspire 8930 in your home, you don't need a desktop anymore.
One thing should be mentioned is, its combo delivered a reasonable WorldBench 6 score of 94. In game tests, it struggled a little with Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and Unreal Tournament 3; running at 1680 by 1050, it notched 30 and 35 frames per second, respectively. So, technically, you can still play games on it, but you might notice the occasional slowdown.
What impressed most about Aspire 8930 is it looks good. The 18.4-inch display, offering a native resolution of 1920 by 1080, dazzles with terrific brightness and good color reproduction. Though the screen has a glossy finish, it manages to remain usable under reasonable levels of sunlight, whether outside or indoors with the curtains open. The bezel is a little thick, but in my tests the lower edge was elevated enough to give me a good, full view of the screen even with my meaty paws typing away at the keyboard. This is why I love it like other people.
Of course, Acer Aspire 8930 is not a good choice for travel use, it is best for those who don't need to move quite often. I mean it is best for home use.
