Google Cr-48, the first Chrome OS laptop, gets unveiled

People have been talking about Chrome OS laptop for a long time, now we finally get confirmed information about it, Google just unveiled it, called Cr-48, which is the first Chrome OS laptop, highlighting a 12.1-inch screen, Webcam, Intel Pine Trail processor, 100MB of free Verizon data, Flash storage, Full size keyboard, Oversized clickpad, and 802.11n dual-band WiFi. It supports 8+ hours of active use, and 8+ days of standby. It also comes with Qualcomm Gobi 3G chip for Verizon data in the US, your carrier of choice internationally. This is a laptop for people who live on the web, you have to connect to internet all the times to use the laptop.

The Cr-48 laptop is not released yet, Good news is, Google will distribute the laptop through its Chrome OS Pilot Program, currently still in beta. If you want to get a laptop for free, all you need to do is apply to join the program, and there are going to be a limited number of the laptops available, you'll receive one if you're lucky enough.

Retail Chrome OS models from Acer and Samsung will be available in the middle of 2011 for the masses, no word on pricing yet. So let's wait and see.
