At this price point (and lower elsewhere), no other company has the latest 5th gen Core i5 processor, discrete NVIDIA graphics processor, along with onboard Intel HD5500 graphics processor, 8G RAM, and 1TB HD. For light gaming purposes, GeForce 940M is perfectly adequate. Anything more hardcore, you should be looking at NVIDIA 960M or higher. For most part, the laptop tends to default to the built-in HD5500 graphics processor for most applications, which is supposed to be the Intel's latest, best mobile processor. 1TB HD is pretty spacious but slow. It has two DIMM slots in which one 8G RAM occupies one slot; therefore, you only have to buy a single 8G RAM to upgrade to 16G max. I swapped out the HD with SSD and along with RAM upgrade to make it run much faster. Spacer is present where DVD/CD writer usually resides.

Accessing the HD and RAM is somewhat difficult as you have to open apart entire bottom plate and disconnect a thin, delicate coupling from the motherboard. There are no access panels. Top of the laptop is nicely textured to prevent finger prints. Rest of the laptop is covered in cheap looking, unadorned, depressing, gray colored plastic that screams cheap. LCD is screen is decent in terms of resolution and color. The keyboard is not backlit. Touchpad is junky and off-center. It does two 2 USB 3.0 ports which I find useful when transferring large amounts of data from one external HD to another. While it gets zero style points, its hardware offers a lot of value at this price point. If you want more stylish laptop from ACER, look at their V series.

Well, what do you think about the Acer Aspire E5-573G-56RG 15.6-Inch laptop?
