I Can Search You Now!

Many of us are eager to stand out on the internet, we want to show ourselves to others, we want to express our opinions. We are unique and full of thoughts (like me). There are many ways to show us out. For example, you can run a blog, write some articles about your thoughts. This is a good way to let others know you.

Sometimes you want to search someone you admire or someone you know. OK, now you can search them on Spock.com. Spock is a free people and information search engine. People can be searched by name or by a “tag” consisting of a personal piece of information (e.g. Princeton Alum, Google Employee, enjoys vegetables, etc). These tags can be created by the person, or by other Spock members. Opinions can be voiced about a person by voting for or against a tag (this includes pictures as well). Although they're not a social network they do have some capabilities such as messaging. Within a search result are links to a person's other locations on the web (e.g. homepage, MySpace, Wikipedia, LinkedIn, blog, etc). For example, if you want to search Han Dingchao (me), you can type my name there and you will get information about me. It's very cool, isn't it?

Many of my friends are there, if I want to contact them, but I happen to forget their contact information, I will find them there. It is very convenient. If you are some actress' fan, you want to know more about them. You can search there. All is up to you. Just think about it, you type someone's name in the search box, press search button, and a picture of the guy you are searching is showing. How wonderful!
